In the center of Antwerp, under the KBC tower, there is this nice espresso bar called Maurice Coffee & Knits. Véronique Leysen is a Belgian TV-personality and the founder of Maurice. Besides ordering a coffee you can also buy handmade knitwear. Her grandpa, Maurice is the muse of her label . I had a little chat with Veronique and ordered grandma coffee, but it was a bit too strong for me. So I swithed to a latte macchiato with roses and honey. It tasted as good as it looks, would really recommend it ! When I was drinking my coffee I was checking out the interior. There are flowers and plants everywhere which made my stay very pleasant.
The interesting part is that you can pay and collect points through Citylife. There are some places where you can’t pay with your credit card which I find really annoying cos I hardly have cash on me, so I always have to go to the nearest bank. But now I can use my Citylife app or card. Every Citylife partner has their own personalised card. My favourite is no doubt the Maurice card! Besides paying you can also discover new hotspots and earn points which leads to discounts!
After sipping some good latte I had the opportunity to go upstairs and check out the lovely view. Before taking the elevator to the 19th floor, I had to go fill in: my name, address, phone number and take a selfie. It was kind off weird and highly securitized. But it’s logical because it’s a bank and the store their money there. Anyway the screening was worth it cos I admired my view!
